For Block Three, I read Transculturality, Art and Aesthetic Principles by Eugenio Benitez. One of the more interesting aspects written in this text was about art being divided into three categories: The art of space; the art of time; the art of energy.
“…it is often said that architecture, sculpture and painting are arts of space, music, performance and dance are arts of time, and literature and poetry are arts of energy“. Benitez.
Therefore, I designed a proposal for an exhibit that glorifies this statement. This proposal is for a two-sentence horror story gallery, where actors recite horror stories told in only two sentences in front of a projector screen. This visually supports Benitez’ statement as the actors telling the stories are the art of time, the stories they tell arguably the art of energy, and the projector screen with interchangeable settings are the art of space.
